14 February 2011, Happy Valentine’s Day!

For anyone who is based in Ireland, I’m doing a bit of press early this week. I’ve got an article in the Irish Times today about how to write a Mills and Boon, you can find it here: Irish Times Piece

I’m going to be on the Moncrieff show on Newstalk this afternoon around 2.30pm, and I’m appearing on TV3 ‘The Morning Show’ on Wednesday. I’ve never been on the TV before and I’m more used to working behind the camera for my film/tv work so this is very scary!

I hope you’re all having a very romantic Valentine’s Day wherever you are and getting spoilt rotten! (Even if you have to buy yourself some wine and chocolates!)

I’m just back from London and I’ve got great news! And also something that I’ve been keeping a secret for quite some time with much difficulty! On Thursday I was at a breakfast champagne reception that the RNA and Midas PR hosted to announce the shortlisted authors for the 2011 Pure Passion Awards.

And………..Bride in a Gilded Cage

has been shortlisted for The Love Story Of The Year Award! The full list of nominees for this and the other awards can be found on the RNA blog here: RNA Pure Passion Awards

It was an extremely glamorous and exciting launch. Of course I forgot my camera and so I have no pics, but I will bring it with me to the Awards Reception which is on March 7 and take lots of pics.

One of my fellow LSOTY shortlistees is Caroline Anderson for her ‘Mother of the Bride’. I read this on the plane home and couldn’t put it down. It’s a gorgeous heart-felt and heart-warming romance. I’d highly recommend it.

And I was lucky enough to get a copy of another shortlisted book, The Wayward Governess by Joanna Fulford, which I can’t wait to start reading…

And now it’s back to work, until more excitement in March! For any of you here in Ireland, you might see me popping up in the press here and there over the next week!

Hi there, just checking in briefly. I’ve not much news to report as I’m busy getting stuck into book number 18 and it’s slow – going. I know what I want to do but haven’t really started to get into the meat of it yet…but I will!

In the meantime I’m off to London for a couple of days, so I’m looking forward to catching up with some friends.

Back soon with news!
